Have you been putting off the replacement of that old water heater? If so, you need to know at after April 15th, 2015 it will cost you much more to replace many models. In some cases this will be hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars.
Why? After that date, water heater manufacturers will be required by the US government to modify the design of many water heater models. The new designs will be more expensive, and in many cases they will not fit in the same space as older heaters. That means, quite often, future water heater replacements will actually require significant re-piping of water and or gas lines or even remodeling just to get the new heater to fit.
next few years, you might be wise to tackle the job within the next few months.
